Email address for free directory submission purpose
September 21st, 2007 Shabu
Many webmasters are very much interested in link building via free directories. I am in same line. I am doing directory submission for my sites from end of 2005; it’s a great way to advertise your site and good for SEO too.Everything was fine but few of directory owners are doing some unethical job. Like, selling emails to third party or using emails ID for their hidden business purpose (e.g., Selling Viagra!). Don’t ask me who are they. I can’t give you any exact directory owner name but I am sure some are doing that. After submitting my sites in various directories, I am regularly getting Viagra offer!
Now these days we have got another way to get kick on email box. iEntry network, they bought a large amount of web directories from the market for sending their newsletter. You don’t need to subscribe there, if you had any submission on their acquired web directories then you are in hell. You are bound to receive their informative newsletter!
Every week I am getting emails from them, I am tired to doing unsubscribe from their network but still getting emails from them. Obviously their unsubscribe option isn’t meant to work. It’s perhaps just there to verify that the email has been read!
Now I have changed my policy, I am using one email address for my directory submission purpose and that email address is not important to me. You should do the same!

thank you for sharing this information. I suggest to create new email address on the same domain you submit to directories, for example submission@yourdomain.com if you submit http://www.yourdomain.com. It will increase your approve rate.
