I can’t understand what happens with Tom (forum owner), I was not an active member there for long time. My last visit and last post was there around 10 days ago I guess. May be after that something happens with the forum and he feels to closing the entire forum.

It’s really a bad news for directory owners. Directory owners was the only one old directory discussion forum on the web.

Netease, is well known for its most popular web portal 163.com, has launched a new search engine, Yodao.com. The NYSE-listed company has already taken 100 technicians. And they create a new search engine over a two and half year’s period. Their mission is to become the No1 search engine in China. They have target five years period, which is rather optimistic to say the least, considering that Baidu seems to have the top position for many years , with Google trailing at the second place with less than a quarter of the market only. But Netease has a big plan for gaining the first position in China. They believe that, Netease can gain the top position in all search engines in China.

From the beginning, 163.com and the company’s other internet properties and the new search engine should be in the China top 10 search engines, and has a shot to make the top 5 with proper development and promotion. It is clear that in a near future China is to become the largest internet market, and there is definitely a room for new search engines.
